Presidential sources have revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari will not wast time to sack the embattled Group Managing Director, GMD, of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, if the allegations of massive corruption and lack of due process levied against him are true.
WE recalls that the Senate has set up a Committee to conduct a comprehensive investigation on the allegations, particularly in the award of contracts worth over $25 billion, without board approval.
“Buhari has zero-tolerance for corruption. The Presidency has concluded plans to sack the NNPC GMD, if the allegations are true. No sacred cows here. The President is waiting for the outcome of Senate investigation. It is just a matter of two weeks. Baru will not his fate”, the source said.
The Senate had constituted a seven-member Ad-hoc Committee, led by a former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aliu Wammako, to carry out the investigation.
